Wavesmith

Privacy Policy

Effective October 15, 2026

Wavesmith does not collect, sell, or share your personal data. There are no accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking, and the game sends nothing to any server run by its developer.

Your progress stays on your device. The only data that leaves it goes to Google, through Google Play features you choose to use: Play Games and the in-app purchase.

Who this covers

This policy covers the Wavesmith app for Android (se.cuplex.wavesmith) and the web version at cuplexuser.github.io/Wavesmith. Wavesmith is made by Martin Dahl. Questions about this policy go to support@cuplex.se.

What stays on your device

To remember where you are, the game saves a few things on your phone or in your browser:

None of this identifies you, and the developer never receives it. On Android it is kept in the app's private storage; in a browser it is kept in that site's local storage. The game sets no cookies. Uninstalling the app, clearing its data, or clearing your browser's site data deletes all of it, and Settings → Reset progress erases your stars.

If you have turned on Android's own backup, Android may include this app data in your device backup to your Google account, so it comes back on a new phone. That backup is run by Google and controlled in your phone's settings.

Google Play Games (optional)

On Android the game works with Google Play Games. If you use Play Games, Google may sign you in when the game starts, or you can sign in from Settings. Google then keeps your Wavesmith achievements and a cloud save of your progress in your Play Games account, so they follow you to a new phone. The cloud save holds your stars, your settings, and whether you own the full game. The game also sends your total number of stars to a Play Games leaderboard, where other players can see it next to your Play Games name, as your Play Games visibility settings allow. Sign-in is handled entirely by Google; the game does not receive your email address, contacts, or any other account details, and it does not read your Play Games profile. You can play without Play Games, and you can manage or delete your Play Games data in the Play Games app.

Purchases

The full game is a one-time in-app purchase through Google Play. Google processes the payment; the game never sees your payment details. It only learns from Google whether you own the full game, and confirms a new purchase back to Google, as Google Play requires.

Google Play and Android

Google may collect information when you download and use apps from Google Play, such as crash reports and app diagnostics, depending on your device settings. That collection is Google's and is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, which also governs Play Games and Play purchases.

The Android app asks for one permission, internet access, which the Google Play features above use. It does not use your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or files.

Sharing a solution

Share copies a link to your clipboard that describes the pieces you placed on a level. Nothing is uploaded; the link only goes where you paste it. The level editor reads your clipboard only when you choose to import a level.

The web version

The web version and these pages are hosted on GitHub Pages. Like most web hosts, GitHub may log technical details such as your IP address when your browser loads the pages, to keep the service running and secure. See the GitHub Privacy Statement. The game itself adds no analytics or tracking.

Children

Wavesmith is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
